ESP-IDF I2C driver for the Lite-On LTR-507ALS-01 ambient light and proximity sensor. Part of the [Qwiic ecosystem](https://soldered.com/collections/qwiic-ecosystem).

### Hardware requirement: external IR LED for proximity sensing

The LTR-507ALS-01 is a bare sensor IC — it does **not** have an IR LED built into its package. Ambient light sensing (ALS) works out of the box over the Qwiic connector alone, but **proximity sensing (PS) will always read 0 unless you wire an external IR LED** (e.g. Lite-On's own LTE-C249, or any similar 850–950nm IR LED) to the board's "IR LED & INTERRUPT" header: LED cathode to `VLEDC`, LED anode to the `VLED` supply rail. No series resistor is needed — LED current is set entirely by the `PS_LED` register's peak-current field. See the [hardware design repository](#hardware-design) for the exact header pinout.
